Drishyam 3 Movie Release: Mohanlal returned with the highly anticipated Malayalam movie Drishyam 3. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the crime thriller is the third instalment in the wildly popular Drishyam franchise. Drishyam 3 has finally hit the screens on May 21, 2026, in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, massive speculation has begun online regarding the film's top-secret climax.
Drishyam 3 Ending Explained
Drishyam 3 picks up a few years after the intense events of Drishyam 2. In the previous Malayalam movie, Georgekutty (Mohanlal) wrote a crime novel based on his real-life cover-up. Now, he has taken a massive risk by turning that novel into a feature film. While the movie becomes a huge box office success, it also puts a giant target on his back, making the police and the public highly suspicious of him all over again.
At the same time, Georgekutty is trying to find a good groom for his eldest daughter, Anju. Sadly, because of the dark history surrounding their family, marriage brokers are completely unable to find a suitable match for her. As the pressure builds, Georgekutty begins falling into extreme paranoia. One night, he spots a flashlight moving across his property. Upon investigating, he discovers a mysterious figure digging a deep hole in his courtyard.
The story takes a dramatic turn when the mystery digger is revealed to be Sahadevan, the brutal police constable from the first movie. Now a bitter drunkard who has been kicked out of the police force, Sahadevan is secretly being controlled by a wealthy mastermind.
In a heartbreaking twist, we learn that Varun’s mother, Geetha Prabhakaran (Asha Sharath), has fallen into a state of severe depression after failing to get justice for her dead son. Driven by desperation to help his wife heal, Prabhakaran (Siddique) decides to launch a ruthless revenge campaign against Georgekutty. He is the one secretly paying Sahadevan and deliberately sabotaging Anju’s marriage prospects.
Prabhakaran sets a dangerous trap by planting a fake groom for Anju. The evil plan is to marry her off, frame her for physically attacking her new husband, and drag Georgekutty into a fresh criminal case. However, Georgekutty proves once again that he is always one step ahead of his enemies. After uncovering the entire conspiracy, he tells a frightened Anju to trust her father completely.
After successfully saving his family from the trap, Georgekutty realises that this cat-and-mouse game will never end unless he makes a drastic move. To permanently protect his wife and daughters, he finally walks into the police station and surrenders for his past crimes.
In the chilling final scene, Georgekutty meets Prabhakaran one last time. He delivers a heavy warning to end the feud immediately, stating that if Prabhakaran ever comes after his family again, he will face the exact same fate as his son. This cliffhanger perfectly leaves the door wide open for Drishyam 4.
