Ghooskhor Pandat Teaser: Netflix India’s recent content showcase, held on February 3, 2026, was intended to celebrate a star-studded lineup for the new year. However, the event has been overshadowed by a fierce controversy surrounding the title of its upcoming original film, Ghooskhor Pandat. Starring the veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee and directed by the acclaimed Neeraj Pandey, the film is already facing calls for a mass boycott just hours after its teaser debuted.
Ghooskhor Pandit movie follows the gritty journey of Ajay Dikshit (nicknamed Pandat), a morally compromised police officer deeply involved in corruption. The teaser opens with the provocative line, “Har corrupt officer ko badalne ka ek mauka milta hai. Ab Officer Ajay Dixit ki baari.” While the teaser has been praised for its high production values and Bajpayee’s intense performance, the use of the word ‘Pandat’ alongside ‘Ghooskhor’ has triggered a wave of resentment on social media. Critics have labelled the title ‘casteist,’ arguing that it unfairly targets and stereotypes a specific religious community.
Social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), have been flooded with demands for an immediate name change. One frustrated user posted, “The name of this movie is highly objectionable. Can Netflix name a movie as ‘Ghooskhor Dalit’ or ‘Ghooskhor Muslim’? Change it ASAP!” Another warning to the streaming giant read, “Hello @NetflixIndia, normalisation of hatred against Pandits & Brahmins won’t be tolerated. I’ll see you in court.” As of now, neither Netflix India nor the film’s producers have issued an official response to the escalating situation.
