Akshay Kumar-starrer movie OMG 2 was a massive succes. The movie also starred Paresh Rawal in lead role. Rawal recently disclosed that the movie's concept and idea came from him, despite which he was not given credit for it.

In a conversation with Vickey Lalwani, the actor stated that he approached filmmaker Amit Rai and shared his idea to him. He noted that the story he had developed with Amit centred on a schoolboy. He gets caught masturbating, following which a video of the incident goes viral and makes his life miserable.

Paresh revealed that Amit had proposed making the character a part-time priest at the Mahakal Temple. He said that once the basic concept was finalised, the two collaborated closely on developing the script and even brought renowned sexologist Dr. Prakash Kothari on board. According to Paresh, both of them were actively involved in shaping the project from the beginning.

Akshay Kumar approached Paresh Rawal for OMG 2

Paresh Rawal claimed he was unaware the script had reached Akshay Kumar until Amit Rai informed him of the actor's interest. While he chose not to confront Amit over the issue, he said he opposed turning the film into a franchise.

He also revealed that he declined Akshay's offer to join OMG 2 as he no longer recognised the story he had helped create.

Rawal added, "I spoke to Akshay. He asked me to do the film. I told him, ‘No. This isn’t the film I had envisioned. There is no role of God in this story.’ He tried to convince me, but I had lived with the script from the beginning."

"I knew exactly what it was supposed to be. That’s why I walked away," Paresh said.
