Bengaluru News: A popular Kannada television actress has alleged that she was the victim of voyeurism and extortion. The actress, who has also appeared in various reality shows, claimed that she was secretly filmed while using a washroom during a high-profile celebrity event in Bengaluru. The incident reportedly took place at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, which was hosting the three-day Celebrity Women Cricket Tournament.

According to the complaint filed by the actress, the violation occurred on February 7, 2026, the second day of the sporting event. While attending the tournament, she used the women’s restroom inside the stadium. It was during this time that an unknown individual allegedly recorded an obscene and indecent video of her without her consent or knowledge. The situation came to light several days later when the perpetrator began to harassment and blackmail.

The First Information Report (FIR) suggests that the suspect sent the footage from an anonymous Instagram account to one of the actress' close friends, creating an impression that the account belonged to the actress herself. The situation escalated quickly as the individual behind the recording allegedly demanded money in exchange for not releasing the footage. The FIR stated, “The content of the video is obscene. After uploading the video, the unknown individuals threatened to send more private videos and to engage in video calls. They demanded money and began blackmailing her friend."

To assist with the probe, the actress has submitted a pen drive containing the relevant photos and videos received by her friend as evidence. Authorities have registered a case under the Information Technology (IT) Act, alongside several stringent sections of the Indian Penal Code, including ection 77 (Voyeurism), Section 351 Criminal Itimidation), and Section 308 (Extortion).

While the identity of the actress remains protected for her privacy, the incident has raised serious questions regarding the security measures for female participants at public celebrity events.
