Kartavya On Netflix: The new Netflix crime thriller Kartavya has quickly become a popular watch thanks to its intense plot and morally grey conclusion. Directed by Pulkit, the film stars Saif Ali Khan as SHO Pawan Malik, a police officer struggling to balance a corrupt political system with his own complicated family life. The suspenseful ending has left many viewers discussing the true nature of justice.

Saif Ali Khan's Kartavya Ending Explained

Kartavya story begins with Pawan being assigned to protect a journalist who is investigating Anand Shri, a powerful godman accused of disappearing children from his ashram. When the journalist is assassinated on Pawan's watch, his superior, played by Manish Chaudhari, threatens to suspend him. Pawan begs for seven days to find the killer.

During his investigation, Pawan captures a teenage shooter who confesses that he killed the journalist under the godman's orders. Pawan tries to file an official complaint (FIR), but his corrupt superior refuses. Instead, a compromise is made to spare the boy's life, and Pawan trusts his close colleague, played by Sanjay Mishra, to escort the child to safety.

If you have not watched the movie yet, be aware that major spoilers lie ahead. In a massive twist, it is revealed that Sanjay Mishra's character has been secretly working for the evil godman all along. He kills the young boy and betrays Pawan by leaking the hiding spot of Pawan’s brother, who had eloped with a girl from a different caste. This leak leads to the brother's tragic death at the hands of their own traditional father.

During a final, intense confrontation, a heartbroken Pawan discovers the truth and shoots his trusted aide, Mishra. He then confronts his father, holding him responsible for his brother's death, and kills him as well.

Instead of a typical, loud action finale, the film chooses a realistic approach. Pawan does not have a big physical fight with the godman. Instead, the final scenes show an emotionally exhausted but determined Pawan finally filing the official FIR against Anand Shri.
