Lock Upp 2: Television actor Ram Kapoor has found himself at the centre of fresh controversy inside the Lock Upp 2 house after an incident in the latest episode sparked widespread outrage online.
The television star was seen hugging and kissing fellow contestant Akanksha Chaudhary while attempting to console her, leading many viewers to label his behaviour inappropriate.
Internet Slams Ram Kapoor For Kissing Akansha Choudhary After Shreya Kalra
The incident took place after Akanksha Choudhary became upset when Akanksha Chamola removed her from her team. After Choudhary vented her frustration to co-contestant Shivangi, Ram Kapoor entered the room to comfort her. During their conversation, Ram Kapoor hugged and kissed her.
Video clips of the interaction quickly went viral across social media, prompting strong backlash from viewers. Many users expressed discomfort, calling the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actor "sleazy" and a "pervert."
One social media user commented, "I also felt uncomfortable after watching this," while another noted, "Akanksha looked visibly uncomfortable."
Shreya Kalra Accuses Ram Kapoor Of Crossing Boundaries
Meanwhile, this latest incident comes just days after another contestant, Shreya Kalra, accused Ram Kapoor of crossing personal boundaries. Ram Kapoor had previously kissed Shreya Kalra on the cheek after she won a task that saved him from elimination.
Speaking to Shilpa Shinde about the incident, Shreya Kalra expressed her anger, stating,"Maintain some boundaries. And this time, if he tries to kiss me, I'm gonna hold his mouth and be like, that my father doesn't kiss me this much, don't kiss me now. I saved you three times, and you don't even lift a finger. I should be ashamed of his seniority. I spit on these seniors."
Shreya Kalra also highlighted another moment involving co-contestant Shivangi Joshi, adding, "When Shivangi was doing her task, Ram sir came very close to her. So Harshad said, 'Don't come so close'. As soon as he moved, he said, sorry. What sorry? That man comes and spits (when he speaks). Say it to his face. He literally spit all over the f***ing place."

Gautami Kapoor Defends Her Husband Ram Kapoor
Following the online criticism, Ram Kapoor's wife, actress Gautami Kapoor, shared a video on social media defending his character. She urged viewers not to make harsh judgments based on edited footage.
In her video statement, Gautami Kapoor said, "I had actually decided not to speak up regarding the show Lock Upp, but I think the last 2-3 days are kind of refraining me from being silent. So, I came here to speak today on behalf of my husband. A lot of people are passing judgments and comments, saying that he's a sleaze, he's a tharki, he's an old man who has some vested interests. So let me tell you guys that this is the way Ram is."
Gautami Kapoor added, "I'm not defending him for the way he is, but he's a man who is all heart, and he went into the game show or the reality show without any strategy or any plan. So I think that is what is coming across."
