Anurag Kashyap's intense crime drama, Nishaanchi, is set for a theatrical release by Amazon MGM Studios. The film introduces Aaishvary Thackeray in his acting debut, supported by an ensemble cast including Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra in key roles. The official announcement video for Nishaanchi hints at a gripping cinematic journey, exploring the divergent lives of two brothers and the impact of their decisions on their destinies. The movie is a joint production by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh of Jar Pictures, in collaboration with Flip Films.
Kashyap described Nishaanchi as a story full of raw human emotions, love, lust, power, crime and punishment, betrayal, redemption and the consequences of it all. Nikhil Madhok, head of originals, Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video, India, praised Kashyap's storytelling and reportedly said, "For us at Amazon MGM Studios, collaborating with Anurag Kashyap, a maestro of raw, unfiltered, and emotionally charged storytelling, has been nothing short of incredible."

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap is known for his distinctive style, which redefines genres and crafts narratives that grip audiences. He also praised his collaborators and reportedly said, "I have been extremely fortunate to find a bunch of good people and superb actors and my most beautiful crew to tell this story in the best possible way."

Kashyap further noted that working with Amazon MGM Studios "has been an immensely rewarding and beautiful experience" that reminded him of "my early days of filmmaking." The film's script was written in 2016, and Kashyap said he was looking for a studio that trusted him to make the film the way it should be made. Nishaanchi is set for theatrical release on September 19.
