Grammy Awards 2026: Pop singer Taylor Swift, who has delivered iconic performances since her debut, will not be performing at the 68th annual Grammy Awards, scheduled for Sunday, February 1. This news has left Swifties disappointed. Recently, rumours were circulating that the Opalite singer will take the stage for the award ceremony in Los Angeles. However, executive producer Ben Winston dismissed these speculations with his recent statement. This decision was made as part of the plan to roll out new artists at the ceremony.
No Taylor Swift Performance At 2026 Grammys
Taylor Swift will not be at the centre of the spotlight at the 2026 Grammys. This follows the Recording Academy's rules, as Taylor has not been nominated this year. For the 2026 Grammys, only music released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025, was eligible for nominations. Taylor dropped her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl in October 2025, which resulted in her absence from the Grammy nomination list.
Reacting to Taylor Swift's performance rumours, Ben Winston said, "The only reason people think Taylor might be performing or coming is because HITS decided to print it this week and put it in their HITS List, and it was picked up globally," referencing his interview with HITS published January 22.
He added, "But HITS just totally made that up. And now I am getting asked about it by you, as if it’s a real thing, when it was made up in your office. That really is a full-circle rumour.”
Ben confirmed the performance of Sabrina Carpenter at music’s biggest night. Sabrina made her performance debut in 2025 with songs Please Please Please and Espresso. She is nominated for six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for Man’s Best Friend.
Ben said, “The plan is to roll out a new artist every day up until the show, like a Christmas advent calendar. We think it will build excitement. Sabrina’s performance last year was actually the turning point of the show, because we dealt upfront with the fires and there was quite a somber feel to it," according to E! News.

Artists set to perform live from Crypto.com Arena during the Grammy Awards broadcast, hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, include Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse with Pharrell Williams, and eight nominees for best new artists- Katseye, Olivia Dean, Leon Thomas, Addison Rae, Sombr, Lola Young, The Marías, and Alex Warren.
