Case Filed Against Palash Muchhal Over Caste Abuse and Cheating Allegations By Smriti Mandanna's Friend
Music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal is facing serious legal trouble after an FIR was filed against him in Sangli, Maharashtra. The case was registered following a complaint by Vidnyan Mane, a childhood friend of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana. The allegations include cheating over a film investment and the use of caste-based slurs.
Vidnyan Mane, a 34-year-old social worker and actor, claims that Palash Muchhal persuaded him to invest Rs 25 lakh in a film project titled Nazariya. According to the complaint, Muchhal promised Mane a role in the film and assured him that the investment, along with a share of the profits, would be returned after the film's release. However, Mane alleges that the film was never made and his money was never returned.
Meanwhile, the situation reportedly turned ugly when Mane tried to recover his funds. Mane claims that during a meeting at a farmhouse in Sangli on 22nd November 2025, Muchhal refused to pay and used derogatory language. In the complaint, Vidnyan Mane said he was abused with casteist slurs and subjected to humiliating behaviour.
The Sangli City Police have officially registered the case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. They have also included charges of cheating and the use of obscene language under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandeep Bhagwat confirmed the details, stating, "The complaint has been officially registered and that further investigation is under way." Police teams have reportedly been sent to Mumbai to find and arrest Muchhal.

This legal drama comes just months after a high-profile personal split. Palash Muchhal and cricketer Smriti Mandhana were famously set to marry in November 2025. However, after both parties reportedly faced health issues around the wedding date, the ceremony was cancelled. On 7th December 2025, the couple officially announced that their wedding had been called off.
While the investigation continues, this case has sparked significant conversation online. Palash Muchhal, who is known for his work in Bollywood and music videos, has not yet released an official statement regarding the allegations. Police are currently looking into the financial transactions related to the film Nazariya to verify Mane's claims.
