Rajinikanth did not respond when asked how he felt. This comes days after Vijay was sworn in as Chief Minister after his party had a historic win at the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Rajinikanth can be seen walking through the airport while reporters try to get him to comment on Vijay's new role in the video that has been going viral on social media. The actor was asked directly, but instead of responding, he smiled and folded his hands to respect those surrounding him before walking and getting inside the airport.

Rajinikanth Congratulated Thalapathy Vijay
Rajinikanth had previously congratulated Vijay upon the announcement of the Tamil Nadu election results on May 4, but he did not respond this time. He wrote on X (earlier Twitter), "My congratulations to Thiru Vijay, President of the victorious Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and to the members of his party, on their resounding victory in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections.
Thalapathy Vijay promptly responded to Rajinikanth for his kind words in a separate tweet on Tuesday. "Heartfelt thanks for the loving greetings from Super Star Mr. @rajinikanth."
Thalapathy Vijay's Historic Win As Tamil Nadu CM
On Sunday, May 10, Vijay took the oath of office as Tamil Nadu's chief minister following his historic victory and securing the majority required to form the government. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony at Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.
TVK gained the support of 120 MLAs in the 234-member assembly after setting a record by winning 108 seats in its first assembly elections. Vijay joined the ranks of legendary actors who have become leaders, including Jayalalithaa, NT Rama Rao, and MG Ramachandran.
