Rajpal Yadav Bail Hearing Highlights: Delhi HC Grants Actor Bail In Rs 9 Cr Cheque Bounce Case

Rajpal Yadav Bail Hearing Live Updates: Actor Rajpal Yadav spent 11 nights in Tihar Jail in connection with a long-running cheque bounce case before being granted bail by the Delhi High Court on February 16. He had been in judicial custody since February 5 after failing to honour payment commitments made to the court. His bail plea was previously adjourned, but the court has now granted him relief after he deposited Rs 1.5 crore to the complainant, which was a key condition for his release.
The case dates back to 2010, when Yadav reportedly borrowed Rs 5 crore from a Delhi-based businessman to finance his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. After the film failed at the box office, he was unable to repay the loan, and with interest, the amount allegedly rose to nearly Rs 9 crore. The court had earlier criticised him for not fulfilling his commitments. Yadav will remain out on bail until March 18, when the matter will be heard again.
