In a video circulating on X, Nitesh Tiwari revealed that portraying Lord Ram is not an easy task. He explained that the character requires emotional depth, strength and balance. Sharing his thoughts, he said, “Lord Ram was a man of few words. His love was unbound. His pain could not be seen but it could be felt.. There is nobody better than #RanbirKapoor to portray all these things and manage the expectations of a billion people”.
Early Criticism To Ranbir Kapoor For Portraying Lord Ram
There has been a lot of criticism over the casting of Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram in Ramayana, especially due to his previous comments and portrayal of the character seen in the film’s first look. An interview given by the actor in 2011 resurfaced on social media, in which he called himself a ‘big beef eater.’
About The Film Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film is based on life of Hindu God Lord Ram. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film will be released in two parts, with the first expected to arrive in 2026 Diwali and the second scheduled for Diwali 2027.
