YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has opened up about one of the most difficult periods of his life, reflecting on the controversy linked to the show India’s Got Latent. Speaking candidly during a recent visit by filmmaker Farah Khan to his home for her vlog, Ranveer referred to the episode as a 'kaand' and shared how it brought his work to a sudden halt.

Ranveer Allahbadia recalled that after the controversy erupted, his podcast came to a complete stop. He said the period was emotionally and professionally draining, as he was unable to shoot or create content. “I just prayed to God to give my work back,” he said. During the conversation, Farah Khan offered him advice, telling him never to waste a failure and to learn from setbacks by staying focused and working harder.

Ranveer Allahbadia revealed that actor John Abraham had given him similar advice during the height of the backlash. According to Ranveer, John personally called him and encouraged him to stay strong, reminding him that such phases are common in the media industry. Ranveer also shared that only a small group of people reached out to him during that time. Apart from John Abraham, singer Sonu Nigam and cricketers Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Yuzvendra Chahal checked in on him and offered words of support.

What Is The India's Got Latent Controversy?

The controversy began last year when Ranveer Allahbdia appeared on comedian Samay Raina’s show alongside other creators. A remark made by Ranveer involving parents and sex sparked widespread outrage online. Several FIRs were filed against those involved, accusing them of promoting obscenity on a publicly accessible platform.

Following the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia was temporarily barred from uploading content. In March, the Supreme Court allowed him to resume his podcast, The Ranveer Show. He later released an apology video, admitting that his comment was inappropriate and not funny. He also submitted a written apology to the National Commission for Women.

Looking back, Ranveer described the forced break after six intense years of podcasting as a moment to pause and reflect. He said he has tried to forgive others and himself, and is now focused on moving forward with renewed clarity and purpose.
