Salim Khan, the father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was reportedly hospitalised on Tuesday. The 90-year-old screenwriter's doctor, Dr. Jalil Parker, told PTI in a statement that Khan was admitted to the intensive care unit at 8.30 AM. He said, "He is stable but is under close observation in regards to his clinical status," in the statement. Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and his son-in-law Aayush Sharma arrived at the hospital shortly after he was admitted in Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai.

Salim Khan's second wife, Helen, was also spotted visiting him to the hospital. Salma, Arhaan Khan, Alizeh Agnihotri, and Nirvaan Khan, his grandkids, were seen on the hospital grounds. The doctor shared that, with 'due consent of the relatives and maintaining the confidentiality of the patient to the utmost,' a press briefing will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM.

Salim Khan turned 90 in November 2025. For the unversed, he changed careers after nearly ten years of hardship and being limited to little parts in movies. He was Abrar Alvi's assistant before he and Akhtar became one of the most powerful scripting duos in Indian film. He contributed to the transformation of Hindi films in the 1970s as a member of the well-known writing team Salim-Javed. He co-wrote numerous successful movies that are still recognized today, such as Sholay, Zanjeer, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Don and Deewar. He is among the most renowned screenwriters in Indian film industry. 

Fans, meanwhile, have turned to social media to voice their worries and wish him a quick recovery.
