Karuppu Movie Timing Delayed: Suriya and Trisha Krishnan fans have faced a major disappointment on the release day of their new movie, Karuppu. Despite receiving special support from the Tamil Nadu CM Vijay, the early morning screenings of the fantasy action drama were cancelled at the last moment on the release date May 14, 2026.

Just a few hours before Karuppu was set to begin, producer SR Prabhu shared on social media that the much-awaited First Day First Show (FDFS) would not happen as planned. He wrote on X, “Due to unavoidable reasons, 9 AM shows will be cancelled for Karuppu. Our sincere apologies to everyone!"

While the producers did not give a specific reason, reports suggest that the Tamilmovie is facing financial hurdles that need to be cleared before the digital keys are sent to theatres.

Karuppu director RJ Balaji also reached out to fans, asking them to stay patient. He stated, “Dearest fans, I don’t have a concrete answer to the current situation. Producers are doing their best to solve the hurdles. This film has always had hurdles, and somehow God has made us sail through all that and here we are after 32 months."

CM Vijay Granted Permission For 9 AM Shows

Meanwhile, the cancellation came as a shock because the newly appointed Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Joseph Vijay, had recently granted special permission for Karuppu to have 9 AM shows. In Tamil Nadu, early morning shows are often restricted to maintain law and order, so this was seen as a huge win for the makers.

The production team had even posted a thank-you note to the CM earlier this week, saying, “Special thanks to our honorable Chief Minister Thiru. Joseph Vijay for granting the special permission for the 9AM shows of #Karuppu."

Fans React To Karuppu Delayed Show Timings

On the other hand, the last-minute delay has left many fans frustrated. One user wrote, "Please postpone the release till tomorrow and plan it properly. Kindly don't play with fans' emotions, bro." Others were worried about whether the later shows would also be affected.
