Petition Against The Kerala Story 2: A petition has been filed in the Kerala High Court seeking the cancellation of the censor certificate issued to the upcoming film The Kerala Story 2. The petition was filed by Sreedev Namboodiri, a resident of Chitriparamba in the Kannur district. After taking cognisance of the issue, the High Court has issued a notice to the Central Board of Film Certification and also to the production house of the film, Sunshine Pictures. The next hearing of the case is expected to take place on Tuesday, the 24th of February.
Why Was The Petition Filed Against The Kerala Story 2?
As per ANI news reports, the petition is against the censor clearance granted to The Kerala Story 2. The petitioner has asked the court to withdraw the certification of the movie. Consequently, the High Court has ordered the Censor Board and the movie producers to submit their responses before any further action is taken.

The Kerala Story 2 Storyline

The trailer was released by the makers on 17 February 2026, and the movie is set to be released on 27 February. Although the exact date of the release in theatres has not been confirmed yet, The Kerala Story 2 is expected to release in theatres later this year, subject to the results of the ongoing legal case.
