A netizen wrote on X, "I thought #ToyStory5 was just okay. The toys vs tech story was a great, prescient idea to center a film around, but it's wrapped in a bunch of set pieces & emotional beats we have seen in this series before. I feel more than ever that this franchise should've ended at 3."
