Who Is Ranjana Jha? Udit Narayan’s First Wife Files Complaint

Ranjana Jha submitted her complaint at the Women’s Police Station in Supaul. She has accused Udit Narayan, his two brothers and his second wife of serious wrongdoing. According to her complaint, she married Udit Narayan on December 7, 1984, as per Hindu customs. She stated that in 1985, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his singing career.

The complaint says, “Udit, left for Mumbai in 1985 to pursue his singing career. Through media reports, I later came to know that he married Deepa Narayan and since then had been staying with her. A case of marital discord and deception is already going on.” Ranjana further alleged that in 1996, she was taken to a hospital in Delhi under the pretext of medical treatment.

The statement further added, “In 1996, I was taken by Udit, his two brothers and his second wife to a prominent Delhi hospital where, under the guise of my treatment, my uterus was removed without my knowledge or consent.” She also stated, “When I went to Mumbai two decades ago, I was not allowed to enter his house. Same treatment was meted out to me when I went to my in-laws house, following which I lodged a police case in 2006. Eventually, Udit then promised to support me financially.”

Ranjana Jha said she later discovered the removal of her uterus during medical treatment years after the alleged incident. She claimed she has been facing health issues and financial hardship. Speaking to the media, she said, "You all know that Udit Narayan ji repeatedly makes promises but does not fulfil them. He has not done anything till now, which is why I have come to the Women's Police Station. I deserve justice."

"When we went to the Women's Commission, they initially refused to accept our complaint. After we submitted a written application, it was accepted. But even today, he continues to deceive me. Whenever he comes to the village, he makes the same promises again," she added. "Nowadays, I am constantly unwell and need his support. But Udit Narayan is neither saying anything nor doing anything. He came to the village recently and left after making promises once again," she claimed.

Ranjana Jha further said, "The case is also going on in court. Udit ji appeared there, but till now he has done nothing." Anju Tiwari, the officer-in-charge of the Women’s Police Station, confirmed that the incidents mentioned in the complaint date back nearly 30 years. She said the matter is currently under investigation and that an FIR will be registered based on the findings.

Udit Narayan has not yet responded publicly to the latest allegations.
