Vikram Bhatt and his wife, Shwetambari Bhatt, were denied bail by the Rajasthan High Court in a Rs 30 crore case involving cheating and criminal breach of trust, meaning they will remain behind bars. In the midst of all the turmoil, the director has been accused of failing to compensate the actors and crew of his 2023 movie, 1920: Horrors of the Heart.

Vikram Bhatt and his team were accused of non-payment of dues to the cast and crew of the 1920 movie, according to casting director Parag Chadha, who has contributed to classics like Band Baaja Baaraat and Ek Tha Tiger. He vented his anger via a detailed Instagram post.

The 1920 casting director shared screenshots of chats with the directing team, specifically naming Vikram Bhatt, director Krishna Bhatt, and the production company, after growing tired of private negotiations.

Parag Chadha's posts brought attention to a reportedly years-long battle for compensation. In spite of his repeated inquiries about payment for him and his team, including the ensemble of lead actor Avika Gor, he said the answers were either nonexistent or evasive.

The casting director stated that he has been requesting the funds for years and has not heard back from the team. He turned to social media to expose the 'dark reality of the movie industry' after growing weary of requesting his money. Parag Chadha revealed that he and his team have hit 'limits,' which is why he posted screenshots of their conversations on social media.

Why Was Vikram Bhatt Arrested?

Ajay Murdia, the founder of Indira IVF and Fertility Centre and a resident of Udaipur, filed a complaint accusing Bhatt, his wife, and others of cheating and criminal breach of trust, claiming that Rs 30 crore in funds were embezzled under the guise of film production.

Vikram Bhatt and Shwetambari Bhatt were arrested by the Rajasthan Police from Mumbai last December and taken to Udaipur, where they have remained in judicial custody ever since. On December 7, Bhatt's manager, Mehboob Ansari and Dinesh Kataria, who is located in Udaipur, were also taken into custody in relation to the case.

These accusations come at the worst possibe times for the Bhatt couple.
