If Yash Raj Chopra had directed Cocktail 2, he would have tranformed the contemporary love triangle into a breathtaking, grand cinematic spectacle of longing, securitised sacrifice and timeless romance.
What is the plot of Cocktail 2?
Cocktail 2 follows Kunal, Naina and Ally in a modern romantic triangle where a loyalty test spirals into chaos. Kunal and long-term partner Diya vacation in Sicily, meeting Diya's friend Ally. Diya asks Ally to test Kunal's commitment, triggering deep emotional fallout. However, Kunal ultimately chooses Diya.
Imagining the plot of Cocktail 2 if Yash Chopra had directed it
Yash Chopra's movies are popular for its setting, especially in snow-capped Swiss Aplps and the cobblestone streets of Zurich. YRF's movie would have featured college besties Naina and Simran's unbreakable friendship, until a fun-matured guy (Kunal) distract their attention.
While Kunal begins to have a crush on Naina, a fashion diva and the college's most-popular girl. Kunal madly falls in love with Naina's fiery spirit. But, just as Naina begins to let her guard down, Kunal discovers that he had previously met Simran during a misty retreat in Interlaken—where they had shared a brief, unspoken connection that neither ever forgot.
Naina is now caught between loyalty to her closest friend and a destined love. So, she quietly steps back, believing that Kunal belongs with Simran. But, he refuses to let love be a martyr’s game, forcing all three to face the true cost of selfless devotion.
How would YRF's Cocktail 2 end?
Instead of leaving quietly, Naina tries to run away during a heavy snowstorm at a hotel in the mountains, wishing Kunal's reunion with Simran. She leaves a note which the duo read. They follow her into the storm to find her.
They catch up to Naina at the edge of a snowy mountain cliff. Kunal gets emotional and tells her he will not let her just walk away. He tells her that even though Simran is a great person, Naina is the one he truly loves with all his heart.
