Former actor and Bigg Boss 6 fame Sana Khan has once again addressed long-standing rumours that her husband, Mufti Anas Sayyad, forced her to quit the entertainment industry after their marriage. Sana, who announced her exit from films and television in October 2020, has made it clear that the decision was entirely her own and not influenced by anyone else. Sana married Mufti Anas Sayyad in November 2020, just months after publicly declaring that she was stepping away from showbiz to focus on her faith and personal growth. Since then, social media speculation has often linked her decision to her marriage, prompting Sana to repeatedly clarify her stand.
Sana Khan recently appeared on a podcast hosted by actor Rashami Desai, where she spoke openly about her transformation and addressed claims that her husband had “brainwashed” her into quitting her acting career. Recalling the time around her wedding, Sana said, “When our marriage was arranged, it was a top secret. Nobody except my mom and dad even knew the groom’s name. Even when the mehendi artist asked for his name, I didn’t reveal it”. She explained that her decision to change her lifestyle and leave the entertainment world came during a deeply personal phase. “I was going through a major change in my life. I was transforming into a whole new person. This is something that I wanted, and he is the one who guided me”, Sana added.
Addressing online trolling and assumptions about her husband’s influence, Sana firmly dismissed the claims. She said, “People think, oh she used to roam without a hijab, and suddenly she’s become so this that. So maybe this guy has brainwashed her. It’s never like that; nobody can brainwash you until and unless you don’t want it”. She further explained that her choice was driven by a desire for peace rather than fame. “I wanted peace. A person might find fame, money and status, but at the end of the day, everyone wants inner peace”. Sana also shared that she had always wanted to get married and have children, adding that her priorities naturally shifted over time.

Mufti Anas Sayyad, originally from Surat, Gujarat, is an Islamic scholar and a successful businessman. He is actively involved in the diamond trading industry and is known for maintaining a low public profile. Apart from his business interests in India, reports suggest that he owns properties abroad as well. Sana and Anas tied the knot in a private ceremony on November 19, 2020. The couple now have two sons, Saiyad Hasan Jamil and Saiyad Tariq Jamil, and frequently share glimpses of their family life on social media.
