At the Toxic trailer launch in Bengaluru, Yash addressed rumours about the film being shelved and revealed details about its 200-day shoot. He also stressed that the Geetu Mohandas directorial transcends regional cinema, bringing together talent from across industries.
During the trailer launch of Toxic, Yash said, "Now it is no more Kannada, Tamil, Telugu. This is an Indian film. This movie is not just a Kannada film; this is an Indian film where all the top stars, all the successful people and all the talented people have contributed."
Yash admitted that bringing several established actors together can be challenging, as competition and insecurities may arise when multiple prominent names share the screen.
He said, "This film has happened because all these lovely, talented, successful people have kept their egos aside, kept other things aside, and they’ve just come with one cause, to put Indian film on a global platform."
Yash dismissed recurring reports that Toxic was being shelved, calling them baseless. He added that coordinating actors, schedules and locations made the ambitious project challenging to shoot.
Yash said, "Every 10th day or 20th day, there will be news about a film being shelved, a film being stopped. I don’t know from where they write these stories."
About Toxic: Toxic has been directed by Geetu Mohandas and stars Yash in lead role. The movie has been shot in Kannada and English and will also release in dubbed versions across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The movie is budgeted at Rs 850–1000 crore, set to be most expensive movie ever made.
Toxic stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, with its female characters playing key roles in Raya’s power struggle.
