Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia’s love story started at a gym. Despite many hurdles and challenges, the couple got married in 2018, marking a huge milestone in their relationship. Recently, Angad Bedi opened up about how their friendship turned into a classic fairy tale. He also remembered how he managed to woo Neha’s father, who was against their marriage because of his financial instability.

Angad Bedi recently appeared on Maniesh Paul’s podcast for his YouTube channel, where he opened up about his love life. Maniesh asked Angad about his sudden wedding and said, “You slept a bachelor and woke up a married man. The news came out suddenly overnight.. which was amazing ya. So, when did you meet?” Angad firmly replied, "There was a gym in Malcha Marg, Delhi, and they used to take me to gym with them. I had never seen a gym like that and I saw a fit girl running on the treadmill."

Angad also mentioned how his best friend, cricketer Yuvraj Singh, played the role of matchmaker in their love story. He said, "After a few years, Yuvraj Singh, who is also my father figure and best friend, took me to a party in Mumbai. Neha was also present there, I saw her and greeted her. The bar closed and we shifted the after party to my house. We invited her and I spoke to her properly for the first time there. I shared with her that we used to go to the same gym."

Angad also looked back on their first movie together and added, "As luck would have it, I did a film called Ungli with Dharma, and she also did a part in it. We did another project – she called me for a role and I said yes because I only wanted to spend time with her. I used to wear my heart on my sleeve. The film was flip, had no value, it was senseless. During the shoot, I told her I like her and she should get married to him."

After coming back from the shoot, Angad asked for Neha's hand in marriage from her parents. Recollecting the actress's father's reply, Angad stated, "You are such a nice guy, but you don’t even have a single rupee in your pocket and want to marry our daughter? I told them that it is my intention, and they said that we’ll see."

Destiny played its part again, and this time, director Karan Johar suggested that they should be together because they belong together. Remembering what Karan told him, Angad said, "You’re going places, you guys are meant to be with each other."

"He was the one who got us together. He is a very important part of our lives. Things started changing after that; it changed so much that the engagement and wedding happened so fast. But, life is on a good track," Angad concluded.
