What Is The Vvaan: Force Of The Forrest About?
The Vvaan is about Rishi, played by Sidharth Malhotra, who is an atheist. He is an engineer who returns to his ancestral village in Bihar with his Mamta playes by Tamannaah Bhatia during Chhath Puja.
Upon returning to the village, Rishi and Mamta learn about Dev Van, a sacred forest believed to be protected by Van Devi. There is a strict tradition of not entering the forest after sunset and not disturbing the deity.
However, conflict arises when Deepak, played by Sunil Grover, who is a local politician, accepts a road project that will run through the forest. With Rishi's brother Shashi opposing and Rishi dismissing the villagers' beliefs, a series of supernatural events unfolds.
The movie is inspired by Bihar folklore associated with the Van Devi Temple near Bihta. The connection with Chhath Puja and local traditions gives its supernatural storyline a distinctly rooted setting.
