Priyanka Chopra is all set to rule the Indian film industry again with her anticipated comeback. The actress, who was last seen in the 2019 movie The Sky Is Pink, has signed a massive amount of Rs 30 crore for her next movie. This surpassed the fees charged by other actresses in the industry like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Nayanthara. The actors’ salaries are highly confidential but every now and then reports surface about their fees. Some reports claim that male superstars usually charge over Rs 100 crore per film. However, female superstars’s fees are nowhere around their male counterparts.
Priyanka Chopra’s paycheck might break the stereotypical barrier for all the female artists across the country. After almost six years away from her last Bollywood release, Priyanka has signed SS Rajamouli's much-anticipated film alongside Mahesh Babu. This project is special for one more reason for the actress as it marks Priyanka’s return to the South Indian film industry after over two decades. She last appeared in the 2002 movie Thamizhan. The movie also starred Thalapathy Vijay, Revathi Menon, Nassar, Delhi Ganesh, Vivek, Vasu Vikram and Ashish Vidyarthi in key roles. Abdul Majith’s directorial had a box office collection of Rs 4.5 crore.
As per reports, this is not the first time she has charged such high fees for the film. She earlier charged USD 5 million (over Rs 41 crore) for her Amazon Prime Video web series Citadel. As she charged Rs 30 crore for SS Rajamouli's SSMB29, this makes her the highest-paid Indian actress.
Before Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone earned Rs 20 crore for her role in Kalki 2898 AD. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt reportedly charges Rs 15 crore per film. Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu reportedly charge Rs 10 crore or more per movie.
