The Mumbai Police took Saif Ali Khan’s attacker to his Bandra residence On Tuesday morning to recreate the crime scene. The attacker named Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, was also taken to the Bandra Railway Station to do the same, as reported by PTI. Saif was stabbed multiple times by an intruder who came inside his Bandra apartment on January 16. The actor was then admitted to  Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent treatment. Notably, he went through five hours of surgery and is currently in the stage of recovery. Notably, A 3-inch long sharp object, which has been identified as a knife, was recovered from his back.

The Mumbai Police alleged that the attacker is a Bangladeshi national, who has been staying illegally in India after he changed his name to Vijay Das. It has been also said that he has been living in Mumbai for the past 5 months. He was doing 'odd jobs' and was associated with a housekeeping agency. The official said, "He called his brother and asked him to send his school living certificate. His brother sent it (the certificate) on Fakir's mobile phone.
