Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, 'Jawan,' has garnered immense anticipation this year. Helmed by Atlee, the movie is said to showcase SRK in dual roles, portraying both an intelligence officer and a thief. The excitement surrounding this mass entertainer is palpable. However, an issue has arisen before the film's release. Allegedly, clips from Shahrukh Khan's 'Jawan' have circulated widely, prompting Red Chillies Entertainment to take legal action against an unidentified individual for suspected theft under the Information Technology Act. The production company has formally filed a complaint. According to the filed FIR, certain clips from the film were illicitly taken and shared on Twitter, thereby violating copyright.
According to a report in the Free Press Journal, Red Chillies Entertainment had clearly forbidden the use of mobile phones and recording devices on the set during filming. However, despite this directive, an unauthorized individual shared the clips, seemingly attempting to undermine the production company and diminish the film's significance.
Red Chillies Entertainment successfully identified five Twitter accounts responsible for sharing the movie clips. Despite sending legal notices to these accounts, only one of them acknowledged receiving the notice.
As mentioned in the report, Red Chillies Entertainment initiated a commercial lawsuit in the Delhi High Court. In response, the court issued an order to the respective Twitter handle to promptly remove the shared clips. Subsequently, the clips were taken down in compliance with the court's ruling. The case was registered at Santacruz police station under sections 379 (theft) of the IPC Act and 43(b) of the Information Technology Act.
Speaking of 'Jawan', the action thriller is written and directed by Atlee. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, it also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani. It marks Nayanthara's Hindi debut and also features a cameo by Deepika Padukone. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It is set to release on September 7, 2023.
