Rohit Shetty is back with the third instalment of the Singham franchise. After its trailer release, the movie came across some controversy about using Ramayana themes. Many viewers alleged that the themes were used at the last minute to make the film ready for Diwali release. One of the writers of the movie Milap Zaveri has rubbished these claims. He called it a coincidence and stated that Ramayan was there in the script from scratch.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel, Zaveri said “The story is by Kshitij Patwardhan. When Kshitij met Rohit, he already had this thought what if we marry Ramayan with the Singham Cop Universe and create this story and I think Rohit loved it. This film was originally going to be released on August 15, which has nothing to do with Diwali.”
He added, “The film was delayed at the shooting stage so it just so happened that we are now releasing on Diwali with a film that has Ramayan in it. This is a coincidence. We haven’t added Ramayan to encash Diwali. Ramayan was in the script right from the start, even when we were not coming to theatres on Diwali.”
Singham Again is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 1, 2024. The movie is set to have a box-office clash with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Rohit Shetty’s directorial also stars Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Jackie Shroff, Dayanand Shetty and Shweta Tiwari in key roles. The first song of the movie is Jai Bajrangbali which has been inspired by the Hanuman Chalisa.
