JE Entertainment Desk: The trailer of 'Tiku Weds Sheru', starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, got released on June 14. Though the Kangana Ranaut's production was being prasied by fans, a section of audience called out the makers over kissing scene between its lead actors. Nawazuddin and Avneet's lip-lock scene has raised eyebrows. Netizens are shocked to witness the same because of the age gap between the two actors. It is pertinent to note that Kaur turned 21 in October last year, while Nawaz is 49.

Soon after the trailer was dropped online, netizens headed to the comments section and expressed disappointment. An Instagram user commented, "I have a problem with this casting, like how tf they decided to put Nawazuddin and Avneet against each other as husband and wife, did the casting director lost his mind or something, she is a small kid," another one wrote, "This is highly inappropriate. What is with these ridiculous age barriers younger females getting castes across much older actors," others also dropped similar reactions.

'Tiku Weds Sheru' Trailer

The trailer of 'Tiku Weds Sheru' opens with Sheru aka Nawazuddin's introduction. He is playing the role of a struggling actor in Mumbai, but amid all this, his family finds him a bride, named Tiku (played by Avneet Kaur). The latter also aspires to become an actor. 'Tiku Weds Sheru' Synopsis

Tiku Weds Sheru follows the journey of two eccentric and starry eyed characters - a dreamer Tiku (Avneet) and a hustler Sheru (Nawazuddin). The trailer showcases the ups and downs in the lives of this unconventional couple, a junior artist and an aspiring actor, who begin their mad-cap journey as they hustle together to achieve their ambitions in the city of dreams, Mumbai. What started as the coming together of an unusual jodi, becomes the marriage of two souls.

About 'Tiku Weds Sheru'

Tiku Weds Sheru is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language romantic drama and a dark satire film. Produced by Kangana Ranaut, the movie has been written and directed by Sai Kabir under the banner of Manikarnika Films. 

The film is Kangana's maiden production after the launch of her production house in 2020. The film is scheduled to premiere on 23 June 2023 on Amazon Prime Video.
