South filmmaker Venkatesh Maha recently brewed controversy after passing abusive remarks on Prashanth Neel's blockbuster film 'KGF 2.' The director took a dig at the plot of the film and also at the lead character played by actor Yash, after which he faced a series of backlash from the netizens on the internet.

Several netizens on Twitter started trolling Venkatesh Maha for expressing his not required opinion about 'KGF 2.' They also demanded he apologizes for insulting the Kannada film, which gained so much fame and was a massive hit at the box office.

Now, taking to his Instagram, Venkatesh Maha shared a video message apologizing for the language used by him, where he clarified that he had no intention of targeting the Kannada language or cinema.

In the video, Venkatesh Maha said, "I apologize for my language, but I will not take back my opinion. I must also clarify that I didn't target any particular language or movie."

He further clarified that he did not abuse anyone, however, he did use an inappropriate term from Chiranjeevi's 'Rowdy Alludu' to describe the character of Yash in the film.

He further added that he only voiced his opinion on behalf of a small section agreeing with him and said, "My intention was to say all kinds of films must be loved equally. My remarks were not intended towards a particular real-life person, I abused a fictional person. But now I, a real person, is being abused terribly and my [inappropriate] images are being created. I hope you respect my opinion, and respect all kinds of films."

For the unversed, filmmaker Venkatesh Maha attended an interview session with popular Telugu directors and voiced his opinion on the plot of 'KGF 2.' He said that the protagonist of the film and his mother were portrayed absurdly and that he took all the money and drowned it when he could have helped people with it.
