The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has intensified its crackdown on property tax defaulters, warning that stringent action will be taken against those with significant outstanding dues.

Putting this warning into action, a team led by Zonal Taxation Officer (ZTO) BS Chhokkar sealed the Jingalala Restaurant in Balola village, located in the Zone-4 area, on Wednesday. According to officials, the restaurant had an outstanding property tax of Rs 6,185,878. The owner had reportedly failed to clear the dues despite receiving multiple notices from the corporation.

ZTO BS Chhokkar stated that the MCG's objective is not merely to collect outstanding taxes but also to ensure all property owners comply with their legal obligations. "Anyone who fails to pay their property tax will now face having their property sealed or other legal action," he warned.

The Municipal Corporation has issued a public appeal to all property owners, urging them to pay their property tax on time to safeguard their establishments. Officials have made it clear that stricter measures will be taken against defaulters in the near future.
