Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh conducted a comprehensive inspection of key infrastructure projects across the city on Monday. Accompanied by senior officials from the GMDA, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, MCG, HSVP, and HSIIDC, the Minister issued strict directives regarding traffic management, encroachment removal and drainage systems.

Focus On Traffic Management And Metro Work

The inspection commenced at Hero Honda Chowk, where the Minister reviewed ongoing flyover repairs and pre-construction preparations for the metro rail.

Emphasising the need to minimise public inconvenience, Singh issued clear instructions that construction work must not begin without a proper strategy. He directed officials to prepare a detailed mobility plan and vehicle diversion scheme to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the construction phase.

Road Widening And Encroachments

While inspecting the road stretch from Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to Gadauli village, the Minister emphasised the need for widening and strengthening the road, alongside implementing an effective drainage system.

He stated unequivocally that the removal of encroachments is mandatory before any construction begins. Similarly, during the inspection of the proposed metro route in Sector-10, instructions were given to clear encroachments and complete technical preparations in a timely manner.

Drainage And Pollution Control

Significant attention was paid to the city’s drainage infrastructure:

Badshahpur Drain (Gadauli): The Minister directed that the drain be lined with concrete and cleaned regularly. He ordered the Pollution Control Board to maintain strict vigilance and ensure that no industrial unit releases polluted water into the drain.
