Following strong winds that began on Thursday night, heavy rain started on Friday morning, bringing a chill to the atmosphere and providing partial relief from pollution. This morning, the presence of dense clouds created a dark, gloomy atmosphere. According to the Meteorological Department, a further drop in temperature may be recorded in the coming days, signalling a return of winter.

The rain and strong winds also had a direct impact on air quality. At 11 am, the Air Quality Index in Gurugram was recorded at 225, while in Manesar it was 214. In recent days, the pollution level had been continuously rising due to strong sunshine and a lull in wind speed, but the rain has settled much of the dust and pollutant particles in the air. Experts say that if the weather remains active like this for some time, the pollution level could improve further.
