A grand ceremony is being organised at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector-38, Gurugram district headquarters, on Monday, January 26, for the 77th Republic Day. The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, will attend this dignified ceremony as the chief guest. 

Strict security arrangements have been made at the venue, where police personnel have been deployed in a three-layer formation. This year, the ceremony, dedicated to 150 years of Vande Mataram and based on the theme of a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat), will showcase national pride, cultural diversity, and development.

At 10 AM, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will hoist the national flag at Tau Devi Lal Stadium and take the salute of the grand march-past. Before this, the Chief Minister will pay tribute to the known and unknown martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice during the freedom movement and while defending the country's borders by laying a wreath at the war memorial located on the Zila Parishad Hall premises. 

The cultural programmes organised during the ceremony will offer a vibrant glimpse into Haryana's rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and the spirit of patriotism. On this occasion, more than 3,000 students from various government schools in the district will showcase their talent through patriotic songs, folk dances, group songs, and colourful performances. 

The spirit of 'Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat' will be strongly presented through these programmes. A total of 11 contingents will participate in the march-past organised for the Republic Day ceremony. 

These will include the women's police contingent from Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban; Gurugram women's police; Gurugram police men's contingent; two police force contingents from the Haryana Police Academy; Home Guard; Traffic Police; Student Police Cadet (SPC); NCC Girls; Prajatantra ke Prahari (Sentinels of Democracy); and Civil Defence contingents. 

Departmental tableaux based on the state's public welfare schemes, development works, and social concerns will also be a special attraction of the ceremony. Through the tableaux, the government's schemes, achievements, and direction of development will be effectively presented to the general public. Heavy vehicles stopped after 5 PM.

In view of the Republic Day ceremony in Delhi, the movement of heavy vehicles was stopped from 5 PM on Sunday. Heavy vehicles travelling from Jaipur towards Delhi were stopped at the Gurugram border. They were diverted via the KMP Expressway and other routes. 

To stop the heavy vehicles, the Gurugram traffic police set up several checkpoints on various roads, including the Delhi-Jaipur Highway. The entry of heavy vehicles into the Delhi border will remain prohibited until 1:30 PM today.
