The Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) has successfully deported notorious gangster Sombir, also known as "Mota," from the US. A resident of Karaur village in Rohtak, Sombir had fled to the US in 2024 using a fraudulent passport. He faces a total of 26 serious criminal charges across Delhi and Haryana, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, dacoity, robbery and violations of the Arms Act. This operation marks the 10 successful extradition or deportation executed by the Haryana STF since 2024.

The Fugitive’s Escape And International Arrest

After Sombir escaped to the United States in 2024, the STF initiated a manhunt. Upon discovering his use of a fake passport, authorities secured a Red Corner Notice against him. Following coordination with international law enforcement agencies, he was apprehended on American soil. After completing the necessary legal formalities, he was deported to Delhi on Tuesday and officially arrested by the STF team at the airport that night.

Criminal Roots And Lawrence Bishnoi Connection

Sombir has been active in the criminal underworld since 2009 and is the brother of the infamous gangster Anil Chippi. Both siblings are reportedly affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and have collaborated on numerous crimes over the years. His violent record includes a revenge killing against the Chhajju gang in 2011 and a high-profile murder in Rohtak in 2012. Although he had been arrested multiple times in the past, he frequently went underground after securing bail.

Ongoing Investigation And Recent Crackdowns

The STF is now interrogating Sombir to identify the individuals who assisted in his escape and provided the forged documents. His fraudulent passport listed a false address in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

This deportation is the third major success from the United States recently, following the extraditions of Lakhwinder Lakha (Bishnoi gang) on October 25, 2025, and Aman Bhainsival on January 7, 2026. The STF is scheduled to hold a press conference in Gurugram on Wednesday afternoon to provide further operational details regarding the capture of this high-profile criminal.
