Jagran Correspondent, Agra | A 12th-grade student, Aditya Sharma, shot himself dead with his father's licensed rifle in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning. At the time of the incident, his father was in another room. When he looked through the window, he saw his only son lying on the floor, covered in blood. By the time they broke the door and entered, the son had already died. No suicide note was found in the room. The reason for the suicide is still unclear.
Gun Used In Incident Purchased A Day Ago
The rifle with which Aditya shot himself was purchased by his father, Sandeep Sharma, just a day earlier, on Thursday night. Sandeep, a resident of Bah's Defence Colony, works as a security guard for a company in Kot, Rajasthan. He returned home late Thursday evening. During that time, Aditya kept the rifle in his room on the second floor.
In the morning, about an hour before the incident, Aditya was seen talking to someone on the phone in the colony. He then came home. At that time, his father was lying in one of the two rooms on the second floor. Aditya went straight to the other room and locked it from inside. His father heard a gunshot from the other room around 11 am. Since the door was locked from inside, he peeped through the window and saw his son lying in a pool of blood.
Meanwhile, other family members also reached the second floor. With the help of his younger brothers, Dhruv and Ankit, they broke down the door and immediately took him to the hospital.
Police Probe Begins To Ascertain Cause Of Extreme Move
After an examination, doctors declared Aditya dead. Upon learning of the incident, police and a team of forensic experts arrived at the scene. The team found the deceased's mobile phone. Inspector DP Tiwari stated that prima facie, the case appears to be a suicide. The post-mortem report will give a new direction to the investigation.
