In a scary situation, a passenger opened one of the emergency exit doors while the flight was taxiing at Chennai International Airport. According to a report by news agency PTI, the incident happened on Sunday when an Air Arabia flight carrying 231 passengers arrived in Chennai from Sharjah early in the morning. This resulted in massive chaos inside the aircraft.

Pilot immediately brought aircraft to a halt

As the aircraft was moving along the taxiway, the designated path connecting the runway and the terminal, a young male passenger from Pudukkottai (34), who was on board, opened one of the emergency exit doors. The pilot immediately brought the aircraft to a halt and alerted the authorities.

Responding swiftly, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, including bomb disposal experts and armed officers, rushed to the location where the aircraft had stopped.
The pilot promptly lodged a formal complaint with the authorities regarding the incident. Security personnel boarded the aircraft, arrested the passenger, and took him into custody.

Officials are questioning the passenger, and his mental condition is also under assessment.

When an IndiGo passenger tried to open emergency door

An IndiGo flight witnessed a mid-air scare earlier in March this year after a passenger allegedly tried to open the emergency exit door shortly before landing, later claiming he was “possessed by a ghost.”

The incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E-185, which was operating from Bengaluru to Varanasi. The aircraft had departed from Bengaluru at around 8:15 pm with several passengers on board, including Mohammad Adnan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district.

According to officials, the situation unfolded roughly 15 minutes into the flight when Adnan attempted to tamper with the emergency exit. Cabin crew members quickly noticed the unusual activity and intervened before the situation could escalate.

When confronted, the passenger reportedly described the act as a mistake. He was immediately warned by the crew and instructed not to repeat such behavior for safety reasons.
