West Bengal News: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, seeking the Centre's support for the development of the state. The prime minister assured the newly-appointed chief minister of every support for the progress of Bengal at the first meeting.
What CM Adhikari Said After The Meeting?
Sharing the details about his first official meeting with the prime minister after assuming office as the chief minister of the eastern state, he said they discussed the roadmap for the development of West Bengal. "Honoured and privileged to have met our respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji in New Delhi today," Adhikari wrote on X after the meeting.
"This marks my first official meeting with Hon'ble PM since assuming the responsibility of serving the people of West Bengal as the Chief Minister," he said.
Thanking PM Modi for his "warm wishes" and for the Centre's continued commitment towards the progress of West Bengal, he said during their fruitful discussion, the prime minister reemphasised his vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and reiterated that the development of West Bengal remains a top priority for the central government.
The CM further claimed that the prime minister assured him of "all possible help, guidance and central support" to place the state on the path of "economic growth, industrial revival and youth empowerment".
"I am incredibly thankful to him for assuring me of all possible help, guidance, and central support to rescue West Bengal from years of stagnation and place it firmly on the fast track of economic growth, industrial revival and youth empowerment," he added. Adhikari also expressed confidence about ushering in "a new era of double-engine growth, transparent governance and holistic development" in the state with support from the Centre.
