Bengaluru-Bidar Special Train: In response to a consistent surge in passenger demand, the South Western Railway has announced the extension of the bi-weekly express special train service between SMVT Bengaluru and Bidar. The special trains will operate a total of 17 trips in each direction, ensuring critical connectivity between several key towns across Karnataka and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
This initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted connectivity between the state capital and Bidar for commuters and frequent travellers.
Bengaluru-Bidar Special Train: Check Train Number, Duration And Schedule
- Train Number: Train No. 06597 (SMVT Bengaluru to Bidar) and Train No. 06598 (Bidar to SMVT Bengaluru) have been extended till February, The Times Of India reported.
- Frequency: The special service will operate bi-weekly (twice a week) in both directions.
- Operating Days: Train No. 06539 SMVT Bengaluru-Bidar will run on Fridays and Sundays from January 2, 2026, to February 27, 2026, while Train No. 06540 Bidar-SMVT Bengaluru will run on Saturdays and Mondays from January 3, 2026, to February 28, 2026, Times Of India reported.
- Stoppages: The special train aims to provide crucial connectivity across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, with stoppages at Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir, Wadi, Shahabad, Kalaburagi, and Humnabad, the report added.
- Coach Composition: The train will continue to run with a similar coach composition comprising Sleeper, AC 3-Tier, and AC 2-Tier classes.
The bi-weekly special express train service will continue to run with the existing timetable, stopping stations, and coach composition between Bengaluru and Bidar during this extended period. This aims to provide a reliable and familiar travel option for those planning trips over the coming weeks.
