Bengaluru News: Police in Bengaluru have started an inquiry after videos showing a late-night disturbance at a popular pub linked to actor Shilpa Shetty began circulating on social media. The incident reportedly took place at Bastian, a pub located on St Mark’s Road in the city’s central business district.
According to officials, the CCTV clips are from the early hours of December 11, around 1.30 AM. The footage captures a verbal argument among a group of patrons inside the pub. While the exchange appears heated and includes some heckling, there is no sign of physical violence in the visuals shared online.
Dispute Over Bill Payment
Initial information suggests that the argument began over a disagreement related to settling the bill. The situation escalated briefly before pub staff stepped in and managed to calm those involved. Police said the matter was brought under control at the venue itself.
Individuals Seen In Video
Businessman Satya Naidu, a former Bigg Boss contestant, was among those seen in the CCTV footage. Naidu later issued a clarification, denying any misconduct. He stated that he had visited the pub for dinner with friends and claimed the disagreement occurred only during the billing process. He also maintained that there was no physical fight.
Pub Ownership Details
Actor Shilpa Shetty is associated with the Bastian brand through a partnership with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, the founder of the chain. The partnership was announced in 2019. There has been no comment from the management so far on the incident.
Confirming the probe, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division, said the police have taken suo motu cognisance of the matter. Those seen in the footage have been summoned for questioning. Officials said the CCTV footage and statements are being reviewed, and a case will be registered if any serious offence is found during the inquiry.
