Bengaluru Power Cut On January 14: Several parts of east Bengaluru are set to experience a scheduled power outage from 10 AM to 2 PM tomorrow, January 14, 2026. The Bangalore Electricity Distribution Company (BESCOM) said that this temporary outage is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and repair work on a primary transmission line serving the area.

- The scheduled power outage, which is scheduled to take place between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, will affect various neighbourhoods that draw power supply from the 66/11 kV Banaswadi substation.

- The shutdown is necessary as the engineer will carry out maintenance work on the 66 kV transmission line feeding the Banaswadi substation, a critical node for electricity supply to large parts of East Bengaluru, News18 reported.
- This temporary disruption is part of routine infrastructure upkeep, aimed at improving reliability and preventing unexpected future failures.
- To ensure the safety of the technical teams and allow for quicker restoration if required, the electricity shutdown has been scheduled during daylight hours.
