Bengaluru Power Cut On January 14: Several parts of east Bengaluru are set to experience a scheduled power outage from 10 AM to 2 PM tomorrow, January 14, 2026. The Bangalore Electricity Distribution Company (BESCOM) said that this temporary outage is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and repair work on a primary transmission line serving the area.
Bengaluru Power Cut On January 14: Why The Power Will Be Disrupted?
- The scheduled power outage, which is scheduled to take place between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, will affect various neighbourhoods that draw power supply from the 66/11 kV Banaswadi substation.

- The shutdown is necessary as the engineer will carry out maintenance work on the 66 kV transmission line feeding the Banaswadi substation, a critical node for electricity supply to large parts of East Bengaluru, News18 reported.
- This temporary disruption is part of routine infrastructure upkeep, aimed at improving reliability and preventing unexpected future failures.
- To ensure the safety of the technical teams and allow for quicker restoration if required, the electricity shutdown has been scheduled during daylight hours.

- Dodda Banaswadi, B Channasandra, RS Palya, OMBR Layout, Hennur, Hoysala Nagar, Vinayaka Layout, CMR Layout, Brindavan Layout, Ramaiah Layout, Munireddy Layout, Vijaya Bank Colony, Nisarga Colony, Nandanam Colony, P and T Layout, Coconut Grove Layout, Byraveshwara Layout, Chikkanna Layout, Nanjappa Garden, Vijayalakshmi Layout and Trinity Enclave.
- Neighbouring areas, including Hennur Cross, Shakti Nagar, Ashirvad Colony, Brindavan Avenue Heritage, Jayanthi Grama, areas around the BDA Complex, Pillareddy Nagar, Ajmallappa Layout and Agara Main Road, should also brace for power supply disruptions.
