Jagran Correspondent, Bhopal: In a major update for the daily commuters, Bhopal Metro services will remain temporarily suspended on June 24 and 25. The metro authority, while providing the details, stated that the services will remain suspended due to the safety and technical testing. The unavailability of the metro services is likely to lead to inconvenience to the residents of several regions. However, the operation is likely to get back on track from June 26 once the testing work is finished.
The officials, while providing details, stated that the Bhopal Metro project is undergoing a thorough inspection of the signaling system. They further stated that a team from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will conduct a detailed inspection on Wednesday and Thursday, affecting the services. As per the reports, all necessary technical tests and safety standards will be verified during the inspection.
The advisory clarified that the metro services on the Orange Line between Subhash Nagar station and AIIMS station will not be available for the general public on both days. It advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and utilize the other public transportation ways to avoid the traffic congestion. The authority also stated that the inspection will improve the travel experience and ensure safety for the passengers.
As per the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, as soon as the inspection and testing work is completed, metro services will be resumed as per their old schedule from June 26. It further stated that the routine safety checking is very important to provide safe, modern, and world-class travel facilities to the passengers.
Earlier this month, a report revealed that the fares for the Indore and Bhopal Metro are higher than those for the Delhi and Lucknow Metro. For a 15-station journey on the Indore Metro, passengers will have to pay Rs 80, the report revealed.
