Bihar Bullet Train: In a major update for the residents of Bihar, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has stated that Patna will soon be connected to the bullet train network. He stated the work is progressing on the Delhi-Lucknow-Varanasi-Patna bullet train corridor, adding that the journey from Patna to Delhi will take just 4 hours and 41 minutes. The operation of bullet trains will significantly boost the connectivity and will benefit the residents of several districts.
The railway minister further stated that the corridor will further be extended to Siliguri in the future. Vaishnav further stated that the Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor, the country's first bullet train project, will be ready by the end of 2027. The Railway Minister further stated that the central government has allocated a budget of over Rs 10,000 crore for Bihar.
Vaishnav also stated that new rail projects are progressing rapidly in several regions of Bihar, including Fatuha, Motihari, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, and Bhagalpur. The railway minister further stated that a new weekly express train is being introduced from Chhapra to Anand Vihar Terminal. The train will provide relief to thousands of residents of the Saran region by cutting the travel time.
Along with this, the extended route of the Mau-Anand Vihar Express and Dohrighat-Aundihar MEMU train till Varanasi City will also be soon inaugurated. While addressing the reporters, the Railway Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had decided to run a bullet train from Delhi to Patna via Lucknow and Varanasi in the previous budget.
He further stated that the 51st railway engine manufactured at Madhoura Locomotive Factory will be exported to the African country Guinea. Earlier, he inspected the STPI Park in Patliputra, Patna, and reviewed the development work with officials.
Vaishnav stated that several new trains will be launched in the upcoming months to connect Bihar with the other parts of the country.
