Jagran Correspondent | Bhabua: The Bihar government has announced plans to develop a mega industrial hub, at a cost of Rs 230.65 crore, along the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway. Situated along the 6-lane, 610-kilometre greenfield expressway, spanning approximately 781.18 acres, the project aims to transform Chand and Chainpur. This major infrastructure initiative is expected to boost large-scale employment opportunities for youth in the region.
First Industrial Hub In Kaimur
District Industries Centre General Manager Hemlata Kumari said that it is an ambitious project towards establishing Kaimur on the industrial map under the leadership of the chief minister. Currently, Kaimur does not have any industrial hubs, and this initiative aims to promote development in the region.
Kumari emphasised that the area's connectivity with the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway will play a crucial role in enhancing transportation and logistics. Improved road access will facilitate entrepreneurs in establishing industries, making the transportation of products more efficient.
Initiative To Generate Employment Opportunities
The initiative aims to set up various types of small, medium, and large industries in the area. Apart from increasing job opportunities at the local level, the industry would attract investment in the district and give new impetus to economic activities. The state government is providing necessary facilities under various schemes with the aim of promoting industries and encouraging entrepreneurs for investments.
The project would also attract the establishment of agro-based industries as well as food processing, warehousing, logistics, and other manufacturing units. This project is part of a broader industrial push in Bihar, with other developments like the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) in Gaya and new MSME corridors planned by the state's Industries Department. The project is expected to strengthen the economy of the district and also curb the migration of youth.
