BTC Election Result 2025 Live Updates: BPF Sweeps Bodoland Territorial Council Polls With 28 Seats; UPPL Wins 7 And BJP 5

The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) secured a big win in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections in Assam, winning 28 out of 40 seats. The United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) managed to secure seven seats, while the BJP won five. 

The latest trends of the vote counting for the fifth general elections of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) indicate a strong lead for the Bodoland People's Front (BPF). The party is currently dominating with 24 seats, reflecting a comeback after five years of losing power. The United Peoples’ Party Liberal (UPPL) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have secured 10 and six seats respectively, while the Congress is set to secure a lead in any seat. 

As per the latest trends, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is likely to make a major comeback in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls, five years after losing power. The BPF has won 24 seats out of 40 seats, leaving behind the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The latest trends reveal that the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) has won in Salbari, Chirang and other constituencies, while the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has won Manas Serfang's seat. The BPF is leading in the counting of votes.

According to the latest trends, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is leading on 25 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) are trailing behind on nine and six seats, respectively.

As the counting progresses in the BTC Election 2025, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is leading with 25 seats so far. BJP and UPPL are trailing behind with nine and six seats respectively. 

With the counting of votes for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) underway, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is leading with 23 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) have secured 10 and 7 seats so far.

The counting of votes for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Election is currently underway, with results expected soon to reveal which party will assume power in Assam's tribal region.

The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is leading with 21 seats, while both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) have secured 10 and 9 seats, respectively. 

BPF is currently leading on 20 seats. UPPL is running ahead on 10 seats. Meanwhile, BJP is a front-runner on nine seats. Congress has not managed to score so far.

Counting is underway across Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, Udalguri, Baksa, and Chirang, with the final tally expected later on Friday. According to the Assam State Election Commission, there are 3279 polling stations across the 40 constituencies.

In the previous BTC elections, the BJP and the UPPL had jointly formed the Bodoland Territorial Council government.
The Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People's Party (BPF), Congress, and other regional parties also contested this election. Of the total 40 council constituencies, 30 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST), five for non-STs, and the remaining five are unreserved.

UPPL candidate for the Salakati constituency and East Kokrajhar MLA, Lawrence Islary has exuded confidence ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election resullts. Islary feels strongly about her party's performance and development works.

Counting is being held at eight centres in five districts and three co-district headquarters of Bodoland Territorial Region. The election to the 40-member council, which has jurisdiction over the five districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri and Tamulpur, was held peacefully on September 22 with no re-polling ordered.

The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is leading on 20 seats, as per data till 1 pm.  Meanwhile, UPPL is at the second spot with with 10 seats, Just behind is BJP leading in 9 constituencies. The Congress party has not managed to open its account so far. Independents have secured 1 seat collectively. 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has held several election campaign rallies in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in the run-up to the elections.

"This election will ensure a new journey in the Bodoland Territorial Region. BJP has released the Sankalp Patra for the BTC election. We will implement all schemes in the BTR region. Five lakh women of BTR will be included in the Assam Orunodoi Scheme, the Mahila Udyamita Scheme, and girl students of BTR will get benefits under the Nijut Moina Scheme. BJP will work to provide constitutional safeguards and land rights to the people of BTR," he had said as the BJP released its manifesto

BPF is in a strong position by mid-day with a lead on 19 seats. Meanwhile, BJP and UPPL have bagged 9 seats each so far. Congress is yet to open its account while other parties and independents have managed to win 1 seat collectively. 

After the first round of vote counting, BPF candidate Mun Mun Brahma is leading with 327 votes for the Parbatjhora constituency.

In Musalpur constituency, BPF leading by a narrow margin. The seat is witnessing a tight contest between UPPL and BPF.

Among the 40 seats, 30 are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, five for non-STs and the remaining five are open to both ST and non-ST nominees.

Alliance partners United Peoples' Party Liberal (UPPL), BJP and Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) have headed the outgoing council.

Early trends show the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) leading in four constituencies Shrirampur, Dhanshri, Nonoi Serfang, and Jamduar. BJP is ahead in the Mudaibari constituency.

Around 78.42 per cent of the total electorate of 26,58,153, comprising 13,23,536 men, 13,34,600 women and 17 people of the third gender, had cast their votes at 3,359 polling stations.

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), who is in alliance with the BJP is fighting on two seats - Baokhungri and Srirampur, in the BTC election. Bistu Ram Narzary is contesting from the Baokhungri seat, while Bipradar Talukdar is fighting from Srirampur.

After first round of voting, UPPL was in lead in Salaikati seat. In the last council polls held in December 2020, the UPPL had won 12 seats, BJP nine and GSP one seat, while the Bodoland Peoples' Front (BPF), which had headed the council for the previous three terms, emerged as the single-largest party, bagging 17 seats, and Congress secured one seat with its elected member later joining the BJP.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier mentioned that there was 70 per cent voter turn out in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election.

"...Almost 70 per cent voters turned out in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election today. The entire election process was conducted peacefully. This has brought a positive message for Assam," said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had said on September 22.

BTC chief Pramod Boro is contesting from the two constituencies of Dotma and Goibari, and former council chief Hagrama Mohilary is contesting from Debargaon and Chirangduar.
