The police raided two factories involved in the manufacturing of fake medicines in the Pabhat godown area of Zirakpur. These units were producing Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines, food supplements, and beauty products. The police summoned officials from the Food Safety Department and the Drug Control Department to the site to conduct a thorough investigation.
Violation Of Regulations And Past Offences
Preliminary investigations revealed that a large consignment of medicines was being prepared in direct violation of government regulations. These factories had been operational for several years. Notably, samples from one of these factories had been collected in the past, and a fine of Rs 16 lakh was imposed after the samples failed quality tests. During the current raid, which lasted for six hours, samples of medicines and other products were collected from both facilities.

Unhygienic Conditions And Lack Of License
One of the factories has been sealed by the authorities. It was found that medicines were being manufactured in this facility in a filthy environment without any valid license or adherence to safety standards. The illegal production included a wide range of items, including Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicines, food supplements and beauty products.
