A bomb threat was sent to schools across Punjab's Chandigarh and Mohali on Wednesday morning. The email threatened bombings at 10 schools, following which the institutions declared a holiday and sent the children back, jagran.com reported.
These emails were received shortly after school opened this morning, prompting the school management to immediately take precautionary measures. Parents were informed of the situation via text message.

Police and security agencies were put on alert upon receiving the threat. DSP City Harsimran Bal arrived at Learning Path School, while DSP City One Prithvi Chahal arrived at Paragon School. Police have sealed the respective school premises and initiated an investigation inside, and no one is being allowed inside the gates.
DEO Dr Ginni Duggal said that Paragon, Learning Path, Mind Tree, GD Goenka, Vivek School, Indus, and other schools have received threats. All affected schools have been closed and information has been sent to the Deputy Commissioner. Government schools have also been instructed to check their emails.
Earlier on Monday, panic gripped Delhi when nine prominent schools in different areas of the city received bomb threats. The threatening email came between 8:30 and 9:00 am, prompting school administrations and security agencies to immediately go on alert.
"Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru," the email claimed, as reported by NDTV.
Upon receiving the information, the schools concerned immediately informed the Delhi Police. Police, fire brigade, and bomb squad teams arrived at the scene and began a thorough search of the school premises.
