Chennai Power Cut: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Generating and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced a shutdown in multiple areas in Chennai on December 26, Friday in view of maintenance work.

The power cuts will take place from 9 am to 2 pm. Power supply will be restored if maintenance works are completed ahead of schedule.

Power Cut In Kovoor: Ambal Nagar, Ram Nagar, Anna Street, Kangachi Street, Aanantha Vinayagar Street, Kundrathur Main Road, Ambthkar Street.

Power Cut In Ponneri: Panjetty, Thatchoor Koot Road, Azlinjivakkam, Borax, Kilmeni, Peravallur, Athipedu, Natham, Andarkuppam, Chatram, Madhavaram, Amoor, Kodur, KPK Nagar, Chinavaram, Vellodai, Eliambedu, Chinnakavanam, Periyakavanam, Kavalpatti, Uppalam, TV padi, Vembakkam, Devadhanam, Annuppambattu, A.R. Palayam, Aladu, Perumbedu, TV puram., Uthandi, Kandigai, Arasur, and above all surrounding areas.

Tamil Nadu Weather

Dry weather is expected to prevail across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for most of the week, the Chennai Meteorological Centre said. The dry spell is likely to continue till December 27, with only limited rainfall activity expected at isolated locations.

According to the weather department, an atmospheric circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal near the equatorial region is influencing current conditions. This system has reduced widespread rainfall over the region, leading to stable and dry weather in most districts.

For Chennai and surrounding suburban areas, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy. The minimum temperature may dip to around 21 degrees Celsius between December 25 and December 27.
