Cockroach Janata Party national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka on Friday stated that the Centre has sought time until tomorrow regarding their demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s removal. He added that the government expressed in-principle approval regarding compensation for families of NEET aspirants and the withdrawal of FIRs against students.

The development comes after Climate Activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26- day hunger strike after a meeting with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh on Friday midnight. The CJP has been protesting for the Education Minister's resignation over the alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 Examination. On July 20,  students attempted to march to Parliament to raise their demands addressing the paper leak and lapses related to it. The CJP has warned that it would escalate the protests if Pradhan did not quit as education minister.
