Educationist and activist Sonam Wangchuk on Monday wrote a letter to Safdarjung Hospital, seeking permission to step out briefly to participate in the 'Sansad Chalo' (Parliament march).
He shared the handwritten letter in an X post. The letter was addressed to the Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital. He stated that he was feeling much better and that his health parameters were nearly normal.
He stated, "This is to state that I am feeling very fine today and my health parameters are also showing as quite normal."
"Hence, I request you to kindly allow me to leave the hospital, even if temporarily, so that I can join the March to Parliament," he added. As of now, there was no official response from the hospital administration regarding his request.
March turns violent
Meanwhile, the march turned violent on Monday morning as scuffles were reported between police and protesters, leading to tear gas shelling and a lathi charge.
Nearly 20-25 police and other government vehicles were vandalised by the agitators. As a precautionary measure, security was tightened at the Parliament, and all the gates were closed.
Visuals of a lathi charge were also captured near Patel Chowk. The CJP leadership has urged protestors to maintain peace. According to a CJP spokesperson, Abhijeet Dipke was detained by the Delhi Police.
CJP delegation meets JP Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan meets Amit Shah
CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das claimed that they were going to meet Union Minister JP Nadda, who had invited them for talks. CJP's Ashutosh Ranka and Saurabh Das left for a meeting.
On the other hand, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Home Minister Amit Shah in his chamber at Parliament House on Monday. While discussions were underway between the two, there was no official word about the agenda of the meeting.
